My Project 3rd piece of the puzzle

Hi all,

today I worked very hard to get all the prep work done on my project...I am posting a picture to show you part of what I've done today!
2 coats of undercoat on this and the rest of the pieces!
 (Pieces... there are lots of)
I did ask for it when I decided to paint the inside as well.....boy that's hard work!!!
I think by now you've guessed, what my project is but the finishing has got me stumped!
I know what I want to do but tried it on an old stool and didn't like the look so it could be another week before it's finished!

If you have any suggestions...I would looove to hear them!

  1. I'm going to give you full kudos for even embarking on such a project...I love the thought of doing this kind of thing, but oh how I wish I had the patience to see it through!

I'm about to make myself sound like probably the dumbest person on earth, but....what is it?

Seriously, I can't even believe I asked that, lol!

  2. Looking good Nat!! can't wait to see it finished :)

  3. Hi girls, thanks for taking the time to comment!

Stacey, that's a fair question...I'll give you a clue...the last photo goes on top of the previous photo and the first photo (Print) goes at the back).

  4. Looks great!!

Is the brown topcoat waterbased? Maybe you could water it down a little and wipe it over the piece with a cloth?

  5. Thanks for commenting on my sage buffet.

Ok... I would either sand back some of the edges with a palm sander or sanding block or electric drummel. Then I would maybe try the wax. Go to your paint store and ask them to give you a few squirts of black tint (Or if you got the wax at Home Depot/Lowes), they may give you some. The wax will really only catch in the sanded areas. (in theory... hahah). Or, buy ebony/black stain and wipe it over the sanded edges. Try those things and let me know if they work! Best wishes! Jennifer

  6. Thanks Mina for your tip, that's what I was thinking too.

Jennifer, thank you for taking the time to give me your professional opinion!
I shall certainly try your tips. My stool has four legs lol, so I'll try them all.

    Much appreciated!!!
